I was born and raised in Ann Arbor and began my swimming career at a local YMCA.  At the age of five I was convinced by a friend to leave my esteemed position as a “YMCA Minnow” and join the Ypsilanti Otters Swim Club.  Shortly after which I started swimming competitively.  Throughout my twelve year participation in the Ypsi Otters I have placed in numerous MTSL and USS State championships.  I was a four year varsity swimmer on the Ann Arbor Pioneer High school swim team, qualifying for the division one state meet my sophomore through senior year.  I was named Rookie of the Year by Coach Dennis Hill, and voted co-captain of the swim/dive and water polo teams.  My main focus has been distance free and my favored events include the 200, 500, 1000, and 1650.  I am currently enrolled at Eastern Michigan University in the art and physical education programs.
